"Ordeal on Peony" is a narrative poem divided by no sections but stanzas in 15 pages , which is firstly written in Chinese with fragments and tempered in English purposely. The text deal with Liu’s identity adventure inspired from Edo Kabuki dance repertoire "musume Dojoji" during his trip granted by the prestigious Taiwanese modern dance troupe "CloudGate" in late 2005. For the first time, Liu realizes from sensual contingency with Japanese ethos to his being nowhere Taiwan in the post cold war Asia genealogy. "Who is chasing in the bamboo forest, and what one hear? Is it a fear, a scar or something related to accuse. Listen! Peony withers, it melts with tremendous evil gesture, and may I not torture them by my grudge?" This is a lyrical but politically aggressive voice from a Taiwanese young poet, and is designed to read during the British Council Speechless project 2008.
